Over the long weekend Europe and Asia were higher. Indices gapped up, consolidated, and closed near day highs. With world markets having been higher and the US showing only slight gains, a lower close Wednesday is anticipated.
Dollar was lower and metals and energy were higher. Metals opened higher, though gave up much of the opening higher prices. Gold futures traded above 1000. Some miners had considerably higher prices in the morning only to close slightly lower.
