After Fed announcement, indices quickly ran higher with light volume then pulled back even quicker. The Fed statement says they are going to withdraw pushing money into the markets, so downside is near. Dollar showed strength when market indices fell (or did the dollar strength pulled market indices lower). Watch how volume comes in to the downside the next few days.
The Committee will gradually slow the pace of these purchases in order to promote a smooth transition in markets and anticipates that they will be executed by the end of the first quarter of 2010.

As expected, a means of standardized trading of non-standardized contracts has not been found. This issue is quietly being ignored, as long as the Fed and Treasury continue to bail out the contracts trough AIG. They are buying time, though the problem is not going away - the problem is being shifted onto the taxpayer.

During a speech Monday, Dallas Federal Reserve Bank President Richard Fisher said roughly "maybe we will and maybe we won't". Maybe they can and probably they can't.

Fed's Fisher sees near-term strength for economy
"You have to feel it. You have to walk through a river feeling the stones underneath your feet," he said. "We have to be forceful, or we may have to be gradual. It depends on the circumstances."
