Wintergreen Advisers takes large stake in Florida property developer

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Mutual-fund manager David Winters, known as an activist shareholder, is stirring up a small Florida real-estate company.
Wintergreen Advisers LLC, a Mountain Lakes, N.J.-based money manager that oversees the Wintergreen Fund (WGRNX), filed a Schedule 13D late Thursday with the Securities and Exchange Commission disclosing a 12.3% stake in Consolidated-Tomoka Land Co. (CTO ), a Daytona Beach, Fla.-based property developer with a market value of about $354 million.
